In the direction it is "pointed" is normal, but can be made selectively
reversable
with a Beverage made out of a transmission line, such as 
450 ohm "twin lead" or even coax.  Lengths need to be made 1/2 wave to
2 waves long to be effective and at heights of about 1 to 10 meters off 
the ground.
