Alex and Tom have covered some of the things that were discussed at
last nights meeting, I have a few things to add.

Those attending the meeting:

K0LW
AK0A
KI7WO
KD0FW
K0XM
K0VBU
KB0U
AE9B
N0UF
AA0FO
KI0KH
KU1CW
KR0I
KG0UA
W0WG
AB0X
W0JM
K0JN

Good turnout!

We did discuss lot of things about the club and it looks like those
that may have been upset at AE9B and his WPX effort are realizing that
his actions were not totally self centered, he is a team player and
wants a team to be a part of. He does want it to be KCDXC. I think the
KCDXC is perhaps more focused after last night to get back into
contesting as a club effort. The way we used to do it can be the way
we are doing it.

We already are using the reflector to talk about the meeting
and K0XM is going to keep us abreast of upcoming contests that may be
of interest.

KB0U is going to see about getting our ARRL affiliation back, more on
that as it progresses.

As you have heard K0ZM is the contest Chairman with KU1CW as his
assistant (protege'). I know that Alex is driven and capable of
pushing Tom to get things rolling. This should be fun!

The Dayton Pileup contest will be managed by K0VBU as usual and AE9B,
KB0U, KD0FW, KI7WO (and his delightful bartending XYL Kathy), AK0A and I will be
there to see that we have a good time and entertain DXers from all
over the world. I am hoping to have some sort of certificate for
winners. We should print them there.

AE9B's most important comments have to do with making the club grow
and lowering the average age of the members. I know, if we kick Johnny out
that will lower the average age by 30 or 40 years, but I don't think we can get
rid of him any easier than I can get out of being the president, so
forget that one. We need some new members, and 30 year olds are OK,
younger is better. Perhaps contesting will help.

Another important point that was brought up is club dues. $15.00
ain't much for the abuse you can get face to face at the club
meetings. If you have not paid up, then drop a check to Rick at:

Kansas City DX Club
P.O.Box 4798
Overland Park, KS 66204

If anyone wants to use Paypal, we have a couple of
members that can forward the funds to Rick if it is easier.

Thanks to K0XM for keeping this reflector under control and his
promise not to censor posts unless they are not relevant. If your post
does not make it to the reflector, the most common reason is that you have
sent it from an e-mail address that is different from the one you
signed up under, or you have not used plain text. I'm sure Chuck sees
this more often than he wants to mention.

Next meeting June 3, 2002

That's about all I have right now, til Dayton, 73 es work more DX.
