[Kantronics] KAM All Mode

I am running two KAM ALL MODES with the latest available firmware on a
MARS 24/7 BBS. There are two running on HF PACTOR and I have two standby
spares.. An additional KPC is running on VHF PACKET. In our local VHF
PACKET network we use MFJ 1270/4 series TNC-2s with The Net X1J4 EPROMs
for our nodes. My BBS software is MSYS

For our operations TNCs are still vital.

So far I am unaware of any soundcard programs that will work for BBS
operations and we do virtually no keyboard to keyboard ops.

I suppose everyone is fascinated with the soundcard stuff these days. I
however am here, alive and well. Proudly
running a Kam+ ver. 8.1 on 14.105 almost daily.

Hello to the list

I follow the list as well as others in this same state.

I reckon that the invention of free software packages, and simple
soundcard
interfaces to operate on the digital modes, has pretty much limited the
TNC's future usefulness.

I had actually forgotten about this list.

Hi Craig;
Yes, I guess you are right - Sound Cards are popular because it doesn't
take much to get going.
I also prefer the KAM Plus for PACTOR altho I haven't been on but once
in
keyboard mode.
The reason I prefer it is because it's the only way I know of to get to
the bulletin boards. I still haven't been able to do that for some
reason. (Probably Operator Error).
I am running the KAM Plus and a Kenwood TS-850S into a Dipole up here
near Chicago. The bulletin board is at Scott AFB near St. Louis I think.
It won't acknowledge me when I try. I need this for Air Force MARS.

What time of day do you get on the air. Maybe I can listen in sometime.

Heh heh heh.... see this ALL the time on the other lists too.

OM - nobody here can unsubscribe you. You need to unsubscribe yourself
the
exact same way you got on the list, using the password you were provided
or
later selected for yourself. If you lost it or forgot it, just wait a
month
and the monthly list reminder will come around with it. Read it, don't
just
delete it. It will have your password in it.
