[Kantronics] KAM Scope Display

I just recently hooked my KAM back up to play around with RTTY.  I decided 
to add the scope modification so I could use my monitor scope as a tuning 
aid.  Was I surprised!  Yukk.  What a lousy display.

I was used to a straight vertical and horizontal crosshair display from my 
old HAL ST-6 TU.  The KAM display is nothing close to that.  Based on some 
information I read, this fat display I'm seeing indicates poor mark and 
space filters in the KAM.

Just curious to hear from other KAM users.  Is what I'm seeing normal, or 
should I be looking for a problem somewhere?
