Hope this goes to the right place. Just got off the phone with Mike, K8AGY, and spoke with Bob Snyder a few weeks ago. I'll be 72 in June if I live through the current mess. I live in the N end of Idaho, but WA state is right next door, and that is an epicenter for this mess
Working part time 3 days a week, I build electrical/ electronic components for power wheel chairs we build here locally. At least for now.
Not on the air much anymore, I took most of my tower stuff down as at the time (before I went to work) I was afraid of physically/ financially not being able to take care of emergency issues with the tower, wind, weather, etc Still talk with a few locals down on 160. Lots of local QRM due to electronics, etc.
Got to go to lunch some time ago with George Burton, K7WWA who I had not seen for decades, and have been in contact with Larry Hinton, K7YBZ. Also got to re-meet him couple years ago, after many years.
Does anyone have any info on anybody else in the 68--70 era of NCG? Bradford? was once our president? Guy Robinson, lived I think in Cupertino? Names are fading, due to aging and lack of use!!!! There are so many guys I've forgotten, can pull up vague photos in my mind. Like putting the big hygain rotator from the log antenna up on the tower. Like taping flourescent tubes to the 40m vertical. Like cooking weenies with test probes and 110AC!!!! Like working RTTY with the gear we retrieved from "the mothball" fleet with the 75A-4 and HT-37 Hallicrafters. Like trying to match up the Drake T4X bought with club funds, to the 75S receiver. And the mysteries of touchtone controlled 2M repeater!!! AM 2M on the TDY!!!! And CLIMBING THE TOWER!!!! I think I was up that thing AT LEAST 10 times!!!
