Hi Bill,

Well, your memory isn't as bad as you think. I was at TI in 1969 and 
1970 and have great memories of the old shack (Bldg 318) on the West 
side of the island. I climbed that fantastic tower a few times myself. 
 From what I've learned (From Al K0FRP and the photos at 
http://www.qsl.net/k6ncg/index.html), the ham station was moved to a new 
location shortly after I left. The recent thread is talking about the 
latter location.

You can find lots of aerial photos of the way the island looks now 
(google maps is probably the best), but there are few resources for how 
it used to look. www.historicaerials.com  is a site that has historic 
aerial photos of practically everywhere. Here's a link that shows TI in

I think I can make out Bldg 318 just before the road turns right. Too 
bad it's not good enough to make out any details like the tower. You can 
see the old barracks too. I have a few photos of the old station and 
tower. I should dig those out and scan them.
