King's Point, NY about 3 years ago - fine young man, and smart as a whip.

Have a very old friend in Pueblo, CO who was MM Radio Officer - WØMWO 
(Marine Wireless Operator)

Back in 1973, I was in Veracruz, Mexico with my lady friend - talking to the 
Master and his crew on the SS Satsumokore  (very pretty ship)... they were 
all German & Swiss, and as their sparks was a drunk (BIG time drunk), the 
Master wanted to put him off - offered me an immediate position at 
$30K/Year... doesn't sound like much now, but in 1973, that wasn't bad at 
all.

I had to turn him down, as it would have meant leaving my lady in the 
Mexican interior, and as she was a well-constructed, blue-eyed blonde... 
she'd have been a target for the bad guys.

Oh well - lost opportunities.
