Hello Pete,

Sadly a good friend and fellow Ham K6GV recently became a Silent Key. The
service for him is on Saturday. My xyl has us scheduled for a function that

has already been paid for on Sunday. Bottom line is that I will not be able

to join you at T.I. for the K6NCG field day. I was looking forward to being

on the air again with that great call from Treasure Island. Sorry.

I do hope some others can help out with your effort.

73,
Bill Miner - K6WLM

Hi Bill, thanks for the note.
Sorry to hear of K6GV's passing or that you won't be able to make it down,
maybe next year.
It looks like Desmond and I will need to soldier on in the best traditions
of K6NCG this year.
We still need to get together for lunch somewhere mid-way between the Bay
area and Sacramento for lunch so we can swap stories about our Harleys...

I have been busy at Boy Scout Camp (I'm on the summer camp staff) but hope
to
try and work K6NCG from my home QTH in central Texas some time. Is 14.292
the only frequency to listen for you or are there any others> Anyway, I
will be
listening some time and hope to work my old Navy home!

Guess I should notify the K6NCG list. I have a new call sign W7IN. I
was active at K6NCG and E.T. school T.I. during January to June 1958.
Stationed on east coast from July 1958 to September 1961, then returned
home to Washington state.

Hi Ron and the whole group:
Our operating plan will be to work the top Mhz of each band at x.292Mhz.
(7.292, 14.292, etc.) Of course we may be plus-minus something to avoid
QRM.
Which band and what time will be purely determined by conditions.

Our goal is to get two operating positions on the air.
My guess is we'll probably spend most of our time on 40M and 20M. We're
going to try and erect a 80-40-20-10 fan dipole oriented roughly N-S for an
East-West radiation pattern for the first operating position.
The second operating position will be using a BuddiPole which allows a
little more flexibility on band selection.

I'll bring my laptop and as we move around I'll do my best to publish what
we're doing via this reflector.
