[K6NCG] Field Day on Treasure Island.

The Island hasn't changed too much since the base was closed in 
1997.  Everything is on hold while the city and the navy try to work some 
things out.  The rents we pay (I'm in enlisted family housing) pay for the 
upkeep of the place while the city has everything on lease.  The navy still 
owns the island.

The main area with the mess hall and BOQ's was taken over by the Department 
of Labor Job Corps where they are training students as cooks, among other 
things.

The housing hasn't grown yet, but there's a plan on paper that I can show 
you guys at the event.  It's pretty incredible, especially if you know what 
the island is made of.

We can get access to the site where the shack was, I'm pretty sure.  I have 
good contacts at the administration building but I want to see if there's 
interest first.

It'll be great to meet all of you.
