Subject: [K6BW] ICS On-Line Training Course

>From time to time, we publish URL links to ICS On-Line Training Courses.
IC-100, IC-200 and IC-700 are recommended.  Each course takes about three hours to complete, at the end of which you are invited to take a short test and qualify for a certificate.  The certificates are useful if you wish to take local training programs, some of which require ICS certification as prerequisites.

The courses are valuable,  particular1ly ICS-100.  The course material can be used in organizing virtually any activity from weddings to changing a light bulb.  Government emergency responders take these courses, and if you are familiar with the subject material, you will be on the same playing field if you need to contact a fireman or police officer in times of emergency.

Local courses are held from time to time, or you can take the courses on-line.

Look first at: http://training.fema.gov/IS/NIMS.asp for a list of available NIMS courses.   The links below will take you to the ICS 100 and IS 700 sites.  Links within each site will allow you to take the test, download the manual or course summary sheets.  Please forward this information to others as required.  Best Wishes

Here are a couple of direct links:

IS-100 Introduction to Incident Command System, I-100. To begin the course, click on "Interactive Web-Based Course" at the upper right of the screen.
