Hi Tony,

The I/O is buffered through IC-56, a 7404, did you change that also?  Part of the 7404 is also used as a crystal oscillator-clock generator.  I can bring a Kenwood service manual if you need to look at it.  I should have an 8251 around here (somewhere).  Will have to look for that also.

Hope it is the 7404!  :-)

  evening.  Our regular monthly meetings are held each third Tuesday.
