[K6BW] For all you landlubbers out there who think oil is the processed remains of ancient dinosours, or wonder if the moon really triggers earthquakes...

What does this have to do with radio? Well, not much, except what else is there to mumble about on a cold Sunday night in our everlasting low-sunspot cycle.

Actually the enclosed link was offered (not by me) in response to a question by hortonheardawho regarding the possible formation of serpentine on mars. "Who is hortonheardawho," one might ask, and rightly so. Seems whoever he is has a terrific skill at colorizing and presenting processed images sent from the Mars rovers that have for the last six years been transiting across that planet. Anyway, he asked a question about serpentine, which involves a geologic process of transforming a base mineral (rock). The magic is the fact that water is needed, and the quest for water has generated a lot of interest with respect to Mars. I am not sure his question was answered, but the enclosed diagram is at least a diversion and presents an interesting summary regarding our understanding of Earth's seduction zones. We conveniently have a big one off the coast of Oregon/Washington.

Perhaps some of the Boy Scouts will be interested. In any event if I can blow it up, it can be offered as a possible addition to the wallpaper in the meeting room. What do you think?

Hope you enjoy.
