[K6BW] [MarinTeams] NASA - New Solar Cycle Prediction

I believe the prediction of a lower than normal number of sunspots
is not accurate. Instead, we could be in for some huge solar mass ejections
that reach Earth and disrupt power as well as communications, based on the
alignment of the solar system with the plane of our Milky Way Galaxy.
However, there seems to be a delay of the onset of the cycle this time.
This COULD be interpreted to indicate the intensity of the upcoming solar
activity peak would be low. I disagree.
I have a theory that the sunspot cycles are related to the orbits of
the planets, particularly Jupiter with its huge electromagnetic fields and
gravity. This "Driver" is then altered somewhat by the inner planets,
particularly Mars and then Earth. Recent rare alignments of these planets
could have altered the profile of the Sunspot cycle, but the period of the
cycle will not be altered. The intensity of the peak may, in fact, be
higher as the delay in activity rebounds rapidly.

Thank you Kate,

The sun may be finally beginning to stir. 10 Meters is reportedly open, as
is 6 Meters, and the lower bands are in good condition.

Thanks for the info.

  Hello Bill:

You may be interested in sharing this website with your peeps:

  http://www.spaceweather.com/

It has views of the sun with predictions of sun spot activity, solar
flares, and gives warnings about disruptive solar events. This next cycle
will last what? 22 years or so and looks like it could be fairly active.
Cheers, K

David, KI6UKC has discovered this sunspot report:

May 29, 2009: An international panel of experts led by NOAA and sponsored
by NASA has released a new prediction for the next solar cycle. Solar Cycle
24 will peak, they say, in May 2013 with a below-average number of sunspots.
