[K6BW] New 40 meter CW + SSB QRP rig

There is a new kit announcement, details below.  It isn't available yet, but
it is receiving quite a bit of attention on the QRP-L e-mail reflector.   A
picture URL is listed at the end.


Oh boy, oh boy.  The post office did its job and the package with the Steve
Weber SSB/CW rig arrived this afternoon.  I will have it and a preliminary
copy of the manual at the NorCal Meeting tomorrow [last weekend] for Show
and Tell.  Hope to see you there.  Here are the specs from the manual:

Specifications:
Receiver sensitivity: 0.2 uV MSD typical
Audio output: 500 mw
Receiver current: 30 ma, no signal
Transmitter power out: 6 watts CW/pep typical at 13.8V supply
Transmitter spurs: -50 dBc or better
Transmitter current: 900 ma at 6 watts CW output
SSB frequency response: 400 Hz to 2400 Hz
VFO drift: From cold start, 200 Hz or less during 10 minute warm up.
Tuning rate: About 13 kHz per knob revolution
Typical tuning range: SSB: 7.150 to 7.280 MHz CW: 6.970 to 7.100 MHz
Power supply: 11 to 14 volts, 12.5 to 13.8 recommended.

The kit will be available in 3 or 4 weeks, and will be a full kit, including
case, knobs, and controls.  All that you have to furnish will be the
Microphone.  The cost will be finalized later be we are hoping to get it out
for $100.00
