Steve KI6ADA,

Thanks!

I've wanted to do this for years and I'm almost there. At 5 wpm I can't
yet get on the field with the big guys but I do practice for a few
minutes just about every day. The K-1 is superb and the Par Electronics
End-Fedz dipole I'm using seems like it might be ideal for a QRP
pack-n-go. I've been told that the Buddiepole is probably a better
antenna for mountain tops above the tree line.

Do you know of anyone willing to spend a few minutes on a 5 wpm QSO in
the evening or of 5 wpm evening practice sessions on 20 or 40 meters?

Thanks again for your reply.

By the way my email and license shows my given name of John but I'm
often called Jack.

HI John

Congrats! I am also interested in QRP. Have fun with
your K-1.
