[K6BW] Antenna wire size

Bill,

The effect of wire size can be offset by using two or more of them
spaced several feet apart. The effect is as if the diameter of the radiator
is expanded to near that of the separation of the wires. I have not tried
putting this into EZNEC ( I use it too) to see the results. - Paul AE6UI

Subject: [K6BW] Antenna wire size

There has been quite a bit of discussion regarding stealth antennas and
whether wire size (particularly tiny wire) has any effect on radiation.
Apparently small wire has very little effect, if the chart below is to be
believed. Ga represents wire gage, starting with big #10 wire and ending
with nearly invisable #60 gage wire. The difference between 10 gage and 26
gage seems to be negligible. Whether this analysis takes wire resistive
losses into account isn't known (I doubt it).
