Dear Steve,

I recommend you DONT copy on paper when you practice. The object is
to "read" the code, not to "copy" the code. No one is going to test
you writing it down, except perhaps 5WPM, and if you gain any
proficiency at all, that will not be a challenge.

When you hear the letter, let it imprint in your brain. Imagine you
are looking at a blackboard at school and the teacher is
writing. You can see in your "mind's eye" the words as they are written.

Think now how helpful it will be if every time a letter enters your
ears you stop to tie your shoe and then see it on the
blackboard. Why not tie your shoes and walk 3 paces across the floor
and then imagine it on the blackboard. The more "stuff" you put
between hearing the letter and seeing it on your blackboard, the
slower your reading will be.
