[K6BW] Hamilton Meeting Tonight (Tuesday)

Hello,
I must apologize, but I will be unable to attend
the meeting tonight. I have less than 2 weeks until
the end of the summer semester, and I'm scrambling to
make up material I missed during my trip to Brazil. I
will be fine, but I will be fully occupied with
classwork until then.
I have some big plans for antenna work during my 3
weeks off in August. I still want to improve the 40M
antenna system, and I will re-attempt to get a 3 or
4el 40M wire yagi between the water tower and the big
oak tree at the parking lot. The 40M dipole currently
strung between the two towers doesn't get used, and
I'd like to be a little louder on 40M before the fall
contest season. I will also be rechecking the TA33 on
the telephone pole to attempt to get that antenna to
work properly.
I made it back from Brazil without difficulty, and
all our gear seemed to survive. I did blow out the
front end of my FT1000MP on 20M, but the only damage
is an inductor in the HPF section that will take 5
minutes and a $0.20 part to replace. If you haven't
seen the results on the ARRL web site, here is the
link:

There's a neat picture of Dan and I operating during
the competition. We had the worse location of the top
three, and are still happy with our results. Had we
been at the #1 or #3 finisher's location, we would
have blown away everyone. unfortunately, this WRTC
was marred by atleast one team receiving help from
"back at home", but the log checking discovered what
happened and the correct action was taken. I'm glad
to say that we beat them even with their "assistance"
(someone in Europe feeding them fake callsigns to pad
their score).

Back to Chemistry!
