Unfortunately, I won't be around Saturday AM either.
Honestly, I've never heard of this contest - is it a
big QRP event?

I was asked to participate in the North American SSB
Sprint Saturday evening. It runs from 00Z-04Z, so it
shouldn't interfere with any Hamilton Hilltop plans in
the FYBO. The Northern California Contest Club is
trying to win the team competition this weekend so
they asked me to participate as a member of the team.
If there's a conflict, I need to let them know by late
Friday so I can make sure they take me off the team
before it's registered.

The Sprint format is 4 hours of high paced adreneline.
You only can solicit one QSO on a frequency before
having to QSY atleast 5 KHZ - it prevents someone from
sitting on one frequency - and it results in a highly
chaotic mix of participants jumping all over the band
as you try to find new multipliers and QSOs to work.
The exchange must include both callsigns, QSO number,
name, and state which requires you to definitely pay
attention! Generally, everyone starts out on 20M,
stays there until conditions go away, move to 40M, and
finish out the last hour on 75M. Since you can work
everyone once per band, the pace is furious every time
you drop a band. The Sprint format thows many for a
loop but I've had a lot of success with the contest
and consider it one of my all-time favorites.

I'll try to remember my 2nd set of headphone incase
anyone wants to listen in (since it's a SSB contest.
