Dave, do you have any comments? Anyone: Do you have a collection of recent
CQ magazines we could add to our magazine library? We also need QST for
this year and last year.
Bill
Every so often someone among our ranks asks a questions somewhat like this:
"How can I improve my CW skills?" Or maybe it reads more like this: "How
can I learn to copy CW faster, or without having to use a pen or pencil?"
I just ran across an absolutely splendid article on this very subject. It
is in the December edition of CQ Magazine, on pages 97-99. It is in the
"Contesting" column, and written by John Dorr K1AR arguably one of the
nation's top CW contesters. Additionally, in the article he demonstrates
that he is clearly an advocate for CW, as well!
I have already read and *digested* the article three times, and I highly
recommend it to everyone else, whether veteran or beginner. John is truly
a veteran and a great CW high-speed (QRQ) operator. In the article Dorr
explains the ABC's of how to move from where you are right now to where you
want to go, no matter how fast. He doesn't promise that it will be easy,
but he makes the way clear.
