We are the California State Military Reserve, proud volunteers to the state
of California and the nation…Citizen Soldiers in direct support of the
California National Guard.
The CA SMR is tasked to support the vital mission of Homeland Defense. These
important missions require the best people and equipment in the role of
command and control, and radio communications is the vital link. The State
Military Reserve is recruiting radio operators and computer network specialists to
be trainers and operators.
The California National Guard will be deploying mobile command posts
statewide, which contain state of the art satellite uplink equipment, Voice over IP
and real time video. Operators are needed to train Federal, State and local
crisis responders on the use of these hi-tech command and control radio units.
The ideal person to meet the challenge will have experience with any of the
following: Amateur Radio, military communications, civilian communications,
computers and electronics training.
Sound exciting? Please distribute this letter to all members of your
organization and request interested individuals to:
a.. Check the California State Military Reserve web site listed below for
additional information and enlistment criteria;
b.. Contact either CPT Lalor at (626) 963-6526 or Rwlalor at aol.com or MAJ
duClair at (916) 806-8072 or rossduclair at hotmail.com for an application package,
and to arrange an assessment interview at a CA SMR unit near your home.
If possible, State Military Reserve signal communicators will be pleased to
make a presentation on this vital mission at your next club meeting.
However, time is critical and the need is immediate. We need your help!
We invite you to visit our web site at www.calguard.ca.gov/casmr/ and
consider joining the CA SMR signal team. As a soldier in the California State
Military Reserve, you will play a pivotal role protecting your fellow citizens and
writing the next chapter of our proud legacy of dedication and service.
We look forward to hearing from you.
