We really were operating at the state of the art when Nima and Michael set
up a network a couple of years ago. Don't know what software they used, but
have come across a copy of the 2003 N8KLX Field Day Logging Software. It
requires the following computer:
Pentium Class CPU
8 Megs of Ram
SoundBlaster compatible sound card
1.44 Mb Floppy disk for saving the log
External hardware circuit for CW keyer
We will probably not integrate the CW keyer (unless you are prepared to do
so), but if you have a laptop please plan on bringing it so we can automate
the capture of stations logged. I haven't seen any reference to network
operation, and haven't had a chance (as in last-minute-rush) to test the
software enough to see if it might take advantage of Window's peer-to-peer
LAN. Networking will be useful if a station works more than one band. Has
anyone looked into this or another package we might use?
