I'm glad to see so many of you interested in participating, and I agree that locating on 80m is a possibility.  The problem is, I also don't have an antenna for 80m. I will shortly (like within two months), if everything works out.  But right now I couldn't be in the sessions in they were moved to 80m. I'd like to stay with it, but if the group needs to move to 80m I'll try and rejoin you when I get an antenna up that will allow me to do so.
 
As for using the repeater to schedule sessions, from past experience I see a problem -- people would have to be tuned to it when the message setting up the session was sent.  Nice idea, but I can't see this as something that will work reliably.  Anyone who missed the message, for whatever reason, wouldn't be able to find out where we were.  Using the reflector would seem to be a better solution, but the reflector also doesn't reliably get the information on frequency out before the session is scheduled.  The practice sessions have existed for just over one week, and we've found this Murphy sticking his head into the mix once already.  So the only solution I can see is to schedule the sessions beforehand, with backup frequencies available -- and used whenever they're needed.
 
I know I'm new, and I appreciate the opportunity to participate in these practice sessions.  I know all too well I need the practice.  I ask just that you appreciate that my copying speed is low.  My call isn't KG6QRS, but I'm seriously thinking about requesting this as a vanity call!
