Here is what is likely a very true story from a Broadcast Group......

A very long time ago I worked a daytimer (k5W).
The sign off guy from time to time 'forgot' to
turn off the transmitter (remote control). We
only had one studio. We took turns coming in
after supper to record the commercials, etc. The
big boss came back once when the sign off guy
forgot. He did not notice. He produced a spot
while under the influence, so it took many times.

The next day the sponsor said to us at the
station... somethin like ' I sure appreciate all
the fee spots you ran for me last night, but
please don't use that kind of language about my
store again'.  We SAVED the account. We still had
problems getting the sign off guy to turn off the
box.
