[K6BW] Tower Height

This is a request for comments from HWA membership.

We need to decide if we are putting our 88' tower up all the way or just
raising it to three sections high, about 55 to 60 feet, as the previous
owner did.  Going up to 88' will cost us a lot of extra guy wire and, from
what I can tell from my various readings about antennas, won't give us any
better performance.  Does anyone have any experiences with the heights of
antenna towers for beam antennas?  Does anyone have any comments, questions
or suggestions??  I am strongly inclined to go with three sections, around
55 to 60 ft up.
