Some interesting reception this weekend on my Shortwave Radiogram
<http://swradiogram.net> project.
One of the broadcasts is Saturday, 1600-1630 UTC, 9400 kHz, from a 100
kW transmitter in Bulgaria. I received it using an SDR near Edmonton,
Alberta. The signal had a pronounced echo, indicating it was being
received via both short and long path (or long and longer path). The
MFSK32 image transmitted at 1618 UTC also showed the effects of the
multipath. It's not often that the moon eclipses the moon ...
Another Shortwave Radiogram transmission was this morning at 0800-0830
UTC on 5850 kHz from WRMI in Florida. I had a very weak signal using an
SDR in Japan. The MFSK32 text decoded only about 50%, but the image
managed to get through ...
During the broadcast, we transmitted about 5 minutes of Thor Micro, a
very slow mode. It was received in Japan more successfully than the
MFSK32 (see attached).
Fun with HF.
