[K3VOA] NIST/WWV query

Hi -- I am working on a story about the proposed shutdown of WWV/WWVH/WWVB
and am looking for an authority who can explain to a general audience that
these time signals are not obsolete but the VLF signal especially is
critical to national security and used not by just the general public for
precise timekeeping but also government agencies and the military.

Any idea who to contact?

There is confidence that despite this being in the budget it is unlikely
Congress will allow the stations to be shut down, but who knows?
