Today's Federal Employees Net would be a good opportunity to test your HT's resistance  to excessive heat.


Or, to remain in air conditioned comfort, try a vertical wire dipole taped to the window of your office. (Some hams used copper tape.)


Whatever, please join us for the Federal Employees Net at 11:30 am on the K3VOA repeater, 147.045 MHz, 77 Hz PL.


The net helps us prepare for the day when amateur radio will provide communications among federal buildings when the cell networks become overwhelmed.


If you know hams who work in or near DC, encourage them to participate.
