[K3VOA] New Repeater

Hello All,

As you know, the club is procuring one of the new Yaesu digital and 
analog repeaters under the current promotional program they are running. 
  This program allows qualified clubs to purchase one of these repeaters 
for $500.  Our new repeater should be shipped to us around the end of 
the month.

At the meeting on Tuesday, a desire to obtain a second repeater through 
this program was expressed.  A second one would allow us to replace both 
the VHF and UHF repeaters.  Purchasing a second unit with club funds is 
not really a good option, as it would drain the club treasury too low, 
and we still have antenna issues to address.  However, a motion was put 
forth, and passed, to see if we could get enough donations from club 
members to fund the purchase of a second repeater.  The cost is 
approximately $500 (shipping and the appropriate mic will bring it up 
some, but I don't know the exact number).

As a result, I am writing to the membership to see who might be 
interested in donating to this project.  If you are interested in 
donating, please send me an email, or call me, or get in touch somehow, 
with the amount you are interested in pledging.  Please do not send any 
money at this time.  I will record the pledges and if we have enough, we 
will place the order, be sure Yaesu accepts it, and then we'll be 
looking to collect on the pledges.  If we do not get enough pledged, 
then we won't proceed with the second unit.
