[K3VOA] VOA ARC meeting tomorrow / Oct draft minutes

Draft minutes of the October 2014 meeting of the VOA Amateur Radio Club (K3VOA)

President Gerhard Straub called the meeting to order at 11:53 on October 25, 2014.

Six people attended the meeting:

The minutes of the September 2014 meeting were approved.

Treasurer John Croft reported that the club has 19 paid members.

Station Report:

John reported that the repeaters are working, but he has not tried the HF equipment lately.

Gerhard added that he has obtained a laptop computer for the shack. It is to the Liberty wireless network.

John Croft will return to Woody Crawford two laptops checked out to the club.

Old Business

No news on the ARRL/W1AW contest events planned for the K3VOA shack [although more discussions with ARRL have taken place since the meeting].

New Business

Gerhard discussed the possibility of the K3VOA shack as a venue for a DC event in the ARRL centennial celebration.  There were no objections from the VOA_ARC members present.

Gerhard and John discussed the acquisition of a desktop PC to replace the PC in the shack that does not now work. The laptop acquired by Gerhard will suffice for the time being.

There was discussion about what to do with the large rack mounted UPS in the shack. Should this UPS be restored or discarded?

Ted spoke about  his involvement with a low-power FM station planned for Arlington on 96.7 MHz.

The meeting adjourned at 12:30.
