FB.  I did a quick google search on your new call, and it was used in contests in the past - but maybe a long time ago.  It's previous holder was a member of the Frankford Radio Club up in Pennsylvania, but this was about 4 decades ago.

Yes hang your callsign out there in contests, DXing and other operating - and see where it goes.

Have you managed to connect your new rig to a contest logger such as N1MM, and have you connected N1MM to the cluster via telnet?  This gives you real time spots on your bandmap - a huge help in search and pounce.  I do suggest avoiding the big pile-ups and trying to sneak up on new signals before they are spotted (now harder to do with automated spotting).  Try this out in DXing before using it in a contest!

Enjoy the spectrum.

 All,
My quest for Amateur Extra is officially complete. This morning I was officially granted the vanity call sign W3GXP. I hope this new call brings lots of luck with contesting. I plan on keeping it for a very long time. Now I have to go through and change all my accounts. That won’t be as fun.
