Folks;

Due to the approaching winter storm, the Carroll County EOC is planning
a partial activation starting at 7:00 PM Monday March 13.

RACES is not currently being requested. However the situation can change
as the storm develops

Please monitor the 145.410 repeater for any updates that cannot be
provided by email.

Here's a portion of the winter weather brief from the EOC:

As you most likely have seen, the National Weather Service has issued a
*Winter Storm Warning* for our area that begins at 7:00 p.m. on Monday
evening and ends at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon. The forecast is
currently for Carroll County to receive somewhere between 8”-12” of
snow, with the possibility of up to 17” in some areas. (See graphics
below for most likely and worst case scenarios.)

Snow is expected to start sometime between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
tomorrow evening, and continue until mid-morning on Tuesday. Heaviest
precipitation will likely take place between 10:00 p.m. Monday evening
and 8:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, with snowfall rates of 1”-2” per hour
possible during this timeframe.

The snow is expected to be heavy and wet, and winds are forecast to be
around 10-15 mph with gusts of 20 mph. Scattered power outages are
possible, but due to the type of snow blowing and drifting should not be
a major problem with this storm.
