The Mason-Dixon Hamfest, as sponsored by the Carroll County Amateur Radio Club (K3PZN), will be held at the Sportman's Hall Skating Rink located at 15500 Hanover Pike, Upperco, MD 21155.  Same location as last year!  (NOT at the previous Westminster location in years past!)  

TALK-IN on the Westminster repeater, K3PZN/R, on 145.410 MHz FM (114.8 Hz PL at times).  

The roller skating rink is open until 12 AM so Saturday night setup in the parking lot is not available. 
Indoor table space is not available due to construction in progress now.  So, special rates apply! . 

Mason-Dixon Hamfest details: 

. Entry Donation: $5 per person
. Tailgate Spot: Entry donation + $5 (for up to 2 adjacent parking spots)

Indoor area opens at 8 AM with food concession stand and bathroom facilities. 

Many people ask about sales tax.  Tax situations vary greatly with each individual so each seller is advised to check with their accountant or attorney to determine how best to comply with all applicable MD laws regarding the collection of sales tax.  Collection of any or all required taxes is the responsibility of each individual seller.

FYI: K3PZN Repeater Information
The three Westminster repeaters operate off of a common controller.  The 2m and 6m machines operate PL from 2300 - 0600L and as needed due to propagation conditions.  All three machines generate the indicated tone full time.  The 147.285 repeater runs COS full time.  Each Tuesday and Wednesday at 2030 the Westminster repeaters will cross-link for the three nets that the club sponsors.

. Westminster: 449.875 (127.3) FM/C4FM Fusion (Yaesu DR1X)
. Westminster: 53.090 (107.2) (GE MASTR EXEC)
. Sykesville: 147.285 (Hybrid machine assembled from parts)

The repeaters all have a typical 3-minute time out timer that resets as the beep is heard between transmissions. The Westminster 2m and 70cm machines also have a failsafe timer that will activate if the transmitter does not un-key for 1 second every 20 minutes. This is to prevent a short or other problem from damaging the equipment.  If you leave just a little extra pause every time you ID that allows the repeater to drop you should never encounter these timers. 

The codes to link and unlink the repeaters are available on request. Please ID before using any codes and remember to turn off the links when done.
