CCARC friends and neighbors,

 

David Smith KB3QMO, a former member of CCARC, died in late summer after an
extended illness.  Dave supported the club in multiple ways.  Perhaps the
most visible was lending (and staffing) his trailer during Field Days and
Emergency Preparedness Expos to demonstrate emergency communications through
amateur radio.

 

His widow, Marsha Smith, asked the Maryland Military Auxiliary Radio Service
(MMARSI) to dispose of his ham gear.  Dave's extensive collection now
appears on the MMARSI web-based auction site at
http://mmarsi.org/forsale.asp .  Each item in Dave's collection has an
auction-end date of Dec.19th.  Items unsold as of that date are generally
marked down and reposted for a few weeks.  

 

As Dave was a founding member of MMARSI, all proceeds (except shipping and
MD sales tax) go to his widow.  The items of interest are warehoused in the
Carroll and Howard counties area.  Arrangements can be made for pick-up
locally, avoiding shipping costs.
