Carroll County Amateur Radio Club meeting - 14 March 2016 ["Pi Day 3.14.16"]

Andy started the informal meeting at 7:36 PM with introductions around

the room.

ARES/RACES - The RACES drill was held last Tuesday night. We are working

to standardize the RACES SITREP form for use in MD. The Health

Department has gotten funds to purchase case upgrades for two more radio

kits. BG&E grant funds have been received by the CCARC to install

antennas in the county schools that the Health Department has deployed

the radio kits. Antennas will be ordered in the next couple of days.

WebEOC training was held for six CARET members last month.

Repeater Committee - Work on the 450 repeater to link it into the 2m and

6m systems has not yet occurred. After that work is completed, efforts

will focus on the Sykesville system.

Andy reviewed his notes from last month's Board meeting. We are trying

to find a checking account that does not charge a monthly fee. We talked

about a couple options for getting HF capability at the EOC - while not

erecting a permanent antenna.

Raspberry Pi Net - Tuesday night 8:00 PM 145.410 MHz.

Steve N3SB showed a Kenwood TK-860HG commercial radio, going through its

features, and how they can be used for Amateur Radio.

Andy WO3L answered questions about FLDIGI setup and operation.
