Kyle,

I'd like to chime in on what everyone has said thus far to say it was
encouraging to hear your efforts over the weekend. While it is certainly
Steve's position better than any of the rest of us to speak to what Carroll
County would ask of you in a RACES capacity, but as an emergency manager, I
would recommend becoming acclimated with some of the Independent Study
courses from FEMA's website:

I would start with ICS 100, ICS 700, ICS 200, and then ICS 800

The great part is that you can do it at your leisure, and by no means
whatsoever do you need to tackle it right here and right now. It is,
however, the language of most EOCs, and if nothing else it will help you
with an understanding of what is going on around you.
