Messages received. (I am late in chiming in)

My initial thought to you question is that for 1.) a catastrophic event
with little notice, such as a 9/11 style attack would potentially clog
voice and data networks, especially if we are all out and about and using
our smartphones while it happens. Also, something catastrophic directed at
critical infrastructure, intentional or not, could have the same effect.
Think back to the July 2001 Howard Street train tunnel fire that caused
significant internet connectivity issues. For 2.) wouldn't the traditional
standby be Ham radio and a pre-designated/club repeater/etc. frequency
where notification can be made? Singular scenario and singular response,
but that's my initial thought.


I am glad to help with CARET, but chances are if you are acitvated, I am
too, and would be predisposed. Count me in for the WebEOC course. I try to
take refreshers every few years.
