you may need to try some different techniques to remove that outer conductor. one approach is to slice a knife straight through just the outer plastic, then try to peel the outer conductor back. while it may not be the best quality, I am suspicious you can get it to work.
plan B is to bring it and a few tools to a club meeting, and we can put one of the experts to work at it.

I'm built a 2m yagi but can get the coax to work... I need to exchange the elements for copper ones because I have found that you cant solder things to aluminum. I bought RG-58u coax from radio shack and wasted $16 because when I try and strip it it takes all the braiding with it and theres not enough left except for the center conductor. Any thoughts?
