I think this was a good effort on field day. My main goal was to show people something new about ham radio that was new to them. We had a nice visit from W3TOM (Tom A.) on Saturday. #1. The setup of the AB577 on Friday evening into night had 2 new students (Mike & Bill). Thanks for the help.
#2. New operators to the hobby were able to see 6 meters in action and learned how to log with N1MM. They learned about the other call areas and the ARRL sections.
#3. John (KWO) had done digital before but now understands how easy it is to work a contest using N1MM and work contacts quicker. I know he enjoyed himself. Others like John that had seen RTTY or PSK before came over to see how it works and learned something about N1MM. John worked over half of the Q's in the log.
All in all - I think those that made it had a good time. Before the next meeting - everyone need to think of suggestions for next year (large or small) and how we can do something better or correct mistakes in our 'on the air' time and also from setup to tear down of the stations.
Here is my totals from my 2 stations.
6 meter -- 35 QSO = 35 points total for 6 meter
Digital 7 -- 73 QSO = 146 points14 -- 15 QSO = 30 points21 -- 8 QSO = 16 points
96 QSO == 192 points total for digital
