State of art big box rig from late 1980s.  Its performance depends upon having filters for both ssb and cw installed.


I would be concerned about how well knobs and buttons have aged.  Check the shaft encoder of tuning knob to make sure it tunes smooth and doesn't jump backwards or forward somewhere on each rotation.  Also check audio and rit pots, yes the mic gain also.  If you find its still sound now and is stuffed with filters you might like it.  I would carefully evaluate it on the air.  The folk that will repair a decades old rig are getting fewer, but otherwise these high end old rigs have quite a following.  Hint look at eham and also original qst review.
