[K3PZN-List] July CCARC meeting minutes

The meeting was called to order at 7:39 PM by president John AK3Z.

Members and guests were invited to introduce themselves.

This meeting is one of the quarterly business meetings.

Treasurer’s Report: Unavailable, deferred until next month.

Repeater Update: A replacement Yaesu Fusion repeater has been received  
and appears to be working fine on the bench. Installation at the  
repeater site is being planned. The Sykesville repeater is not working  
well. Noise bursts have been occasionally interfering with both the 6m  
repeater and the 2m repeater. The systems may have PL enabled at  
unscheduled times to mitigate this problem.

ARES Update: The CARET Team has been asked to support the next Health  
Department drill on Saturday August 1, 9:00 - 11:00 AM. Efforts  
towards installing permanent antennas at the POD sites have started.  
We will also have three packaged EMCOMM kits to test during the event.  
  ARES members should renew their memberships at www.qsl.net/caret.

EOC Update: Coax has been installed to support two of the radio  
operating positions at the New Windsor EOC.

Field Day: Set-up started Friday evening with the triband beam and  
AB-577 mast, and resumed Saturday morning. We received a visit from  
Tom W3TOM, the ARRL Atlantic Division Director. Phone, CW, and Digital  
stations were prepared. 6M worked well Sunday morning. Despite the  
heavy rains on Saturday, everyone who participated reported having a  
good time.

Tailgate-Fest: Scheduled for Sunday August 16. The K3PZN website still  
needs to be updated to reflect the changes.
