Didn't get home until way late on Friday, rained all Sat AM & part of PM. Had to fix the 40m dipole, two breaks & two places to re-cover the wire. Designed a sky hook using four AL mast sections and a cloths hanger & got the antenna up. One of my trees was taken down last year so had to come up with another way to keep that leg off the ground, used a board that was painted with a quilt pattern on our garage to do that even though the wire touched the gutter in one place.
Got on the air & made my five QRP solar charged battery contacts. Four were in OH, almost everyone I heard was in OH, then got one from WNY. After that I pulled everything down and put it all away. The antenna was almost pefectly west to east and only about 20' at the middle, inverted V, with the ends 5' or lower. It was also blocked by the hose to the south. SO, we have a NISW antenna for 40m mostly blocked to the south. I guess hearing OH makes sense.
