[K3PZN-List] WX3B wants 40m SSB, and 20m CW band (Field Day Commentary)

Hi Pete and Group,

I actually asked Frank W3LPL about this earlier today.

On the PVRC list of planned Transceivers this year:

1.  Yaesu FT-1000mp/1000mp Mark V/1000mp Mark V field
2.  Elecraft K3
3.  Yaesu FTDX-5000

There was also a comment that mobile and other low end radios were excluded from consideration.

In the past, they have used Kenwood 850's....and I believe 930/940....and a brave person might have brought a Ten Tec Orion out there.

One year when Icom sponsored Field day there were some 7800's floating around.

I am not aware of any definitive "phase noise on transmit" reports for these or other radios.

73,

Jim   WX3B

I'm a bit curious about which radios the PVRC deems acceptable for FD
operation.

I suspect the K3 is on the acceptable list.  How about Yaesu, Icom and
Kenwood?

Any data on transmitter phase-noise for various radios?
