My Field Day highlights -- in order of ranking:

1. Doug KC2LZO setting up his station and operating QRP SSB.  (I am thinking his rig is an X1M).  Fantastic to have this young OM stop by.

2. Ray/Kerri's beam-on-rocketlauncher brought a nice pile-up of visitors (including an ex club president)
3. Kerris arranging for her spouse to feed us well with hotdogs and trimmings
4. Several unexpected members stopping by
5. Watching a 432 MHz high gain antenna being constructed on site, along with completely integrating a satellite station (shall we say on the fly?)
6. Using a way-cool, maybe nearly new out-of-the box Argonaut VI.

7. Myself not mentioning here the several 'key' things that went wrong
8. Pulling off FD without needing a designated (or even an acting) FD chair.  We did well to leverage our collective skills.

ON SATURDAY OF FIELD DAY 2014 a young man
stopped by for a visit, saying he just happened to notice
our rising antenna farm and if he could please set up his
portable station on site to make a contact of his own.

That person was Doug Augustyn, KC2LZO, from
Bel Air, MD.  Doug set up his gear in the Satellite
Shelter behind my satellite gradio ear and across from
my fabrication table.  He operated 1B and made
a contact between 1830 and 1916 local time.

IF YOU HAVE A THOUGHT or a story to share
about Doug or anything from FD then please say
so soon.

We're all ears!

Thanks,
