Eric,
Thanks, that's what I found on the internet as well. I was hoping for such a clear indication of failure & an easy fix. Unfortunately when I took it apart I found that none of the caps looked like they were failing or had failed. I told my friend that we could still get a new power supply board but that I really didn't know if that was the problem. She decided to take the opportunity to get a new TV instead.

I repaired an LCD TV for a friend. ?Power supply was failing, Google said it was common to have bad caps on that model. ?Pulled out the power board, and sure enough, the tops of about 4 of the caps were either popped or bulged. ?I ordered some replacements (better quality ?I think) from Digi Key, and just de-soldered the old ones and soldered in new ones. ?That was at least a couple of years ago, and as far as I know the TV is still working for them.

Has anyone ever repaired a Samsung LCD TV Model code: LN46A500T1FXZA?
Presently getting too? dark to view. I understand this is a power board, capacitor failure problem. I haven't been able to find a repair kit for this particular model, found one for a LN64A550T1F but I don't probably need a "kit" just a few high temp caps.

Any experience out there?
