Ray

funny thing is I sent the instructions to Fred K3TAZ .... I sent him data on a 2 element quad .... but since you are an ambitious guy - here is a 3 element version --

http://www.metaphoria.us/hamradio/6_meter_quad.htm

The assembly technique is this:

boom is the large diameter PVC.  drill holes where the spacers go with a hole saw.  attach PVC spacers for the spreaders with a screw to hold them to the boom.  then attach (glue) the smaller diameter spacers into the boom.  I learned this construction method from an article by LB Cebik, SK -- I should not introduce you to his work - lest you build more antennas!

Ok here the article on the 2 element quad -- I recommend this method, but I prefer keeping the elements spaced for a closer match to 50 ohms - I remember this spacing to be 0.2 wavelengths.

got any good sites to look at to build a 6m quad?  I like pvc pipe and got
the wire 6m quad would be neat and like you said maybe not take up much
space on the roof.  yeah the 80m loop does really well sometimes picking up
the signals that are weak  in fact I have noticed it is better than the
beverage but to be fair i have the beverage pointed to  Europe... you know
I have not checked in few weeks maybe a deer hit it.
