Ray, 

First of all what do you want to do with the antenna?  work DX?  Locally?  it makes a difference and if you wish to work DX then this is not the antenna of choice on TB. 



Next you will get a better match if you come off the loop with a quarter wave (dont forget the velocity factor) of RG 11 (any 75 ohm will work given the correct power rating... and then couple it to a 50 ohm cable to the house.  This will give you close to a 50 home match. 



If you need help cutting 14. wave section  you can talk to anyone with an analyzer

Hello All 

ok antenna question ... so I have constructed a 160m loop antenna with 
each leg being 70ft so it terminates with a coax cable shielding 
solder to one end of wire and other wire to center conductor. Do i 
need to ground this antenna?
