Bill, N3WM/4

Thanks for checking in -- fantastic you have a new club home at W4CAR.  We will be operating as K3PZN, but we have grown to 8A with some ops from WY3P joining us.  (We had a FANTASTIC group of folk show up for our June meeting - including several first-time and few-time attendees, and hopefully many will join us to participate in FD).

Indeed it is nice to maintain your antenna farm with both feet on the ground (or also a raised platform in my case).  Your planned vertical will do well up to 20m - so use some creativity to get up a bit higher - including the magic band (if I can find it, someone designed a 3 element beam for 6m that looks like a nice perch for birds, very low profile).

Don't gloat too much for escaping our liberal land of taxation.

Subject: [K3PZN-List] Greetings From Chesapeake Virginia

Greetings To All,

Most you may know that Joyce and I have moved to Chesapeake, Virginia
to retire. I will miss the many friendships that I've enjoyed over the
years which include of course the Carroll County Radio Club.

I would like to thank Steve, Andy, Pete, John and Wayne for helping me
pull down the antennas and tower at the 11th hour. We sold our house
in one day so the crunch was on hi hi..thanks guys.

We are building a new house here in Chesapeake and it won't be ready
until the end of September..but I'm already making plans to go with a
vertical with many ground radials.

I've joined the Chesapeake Amateur Radio Service (W4CAR) so listen for
us on FD.
BYW what call will the club be using ?

We do plan to go back to Maryland now and then so I will try to time
it to attend a meeting.

Best 73's

Bill N3WM
