You may want to check electrical codes.  In my line of work we exothermically bond all ground connections that are covered by dirt. 

Check out "CADWELD ONE SHOT" for kits to do your ground connections.

I just installed a grounding system for my tower.  See the photos at:  http://tinyurl.com/tower-grounding   

Please critique and comment.  Note that the system has not been tied to the service entrance ground (yet) as required by code.
