Hi Phil,
Sorry to hear of your accident or is it a crash? I hope you're feeling better by now.  If I understand your description correctly, you were passing through an intersection on a green light and a car that had a red light turned LEFT in front of you. Is this correct? If so she was the one that got the ticket and was the cause of the accident unless since I left MD they have passed LEFT turn on RED!
I would advise you to obtain a lawyer and be sure to have x-rays to see if you have fractured any ribs. Mary still has problems with the accident we had in 2001 in Ohio. She just recently had some x-rays for other reasons and the Doctor asked when did you break your ribs. Of course it was during the accident and the hospital in OH didn't take any x-rays. Mary had therapy for several months after the accident and you may have to do it also.  Be sure that the insurance will pay for anything now and in the future or get a good settlement.  A good lawyer may be cheap insurance.

Subject: [K3PZN-List] KE3FL is out of comission for awhile

Yesterday, Sat May 13, 2013, I was in a serious car accident & will probably be at home for the next 3 - 4 days at least. I was very lucky nothing was broken but my back is giving me a great deal of pain & I was told the pain would last for weeks.

I was coming down a small hill in 2nd gear to keep the car under 30 mph & then put it back in drive as I approached the traffic light. I didn't speed up just let the car coast through, only I never made it to the other side.

I saw two cars turn left and since I was so close I knew the third would not even try it, I could see it couldn't be done, but I was wrong. She started to make her turn & then stopped in my lane giving me no time to stop and there were cars everywhere else. I hit the breaks & then I hit her car. Her SUV was hardly damaged but my little Toyota was totaled. The KE3FL-mobile is no more.

Beckie & the rest of the family got to the hospital shortly after I did. I have a big bruise on my left foot, my left arm, and the real pain was, and still is, in my upper back.

The next few days will be spent recuperating, finding more damage such as the large bruise on my left hip & the seat belt bruise from left collarbone across my chest.  Also, getting everything taken care of so I can get another car & get back to work in however long it takes & I feel up to it.

Your prayers are appreciated.
